Incorrect wiring guidance was included in the 0026e, 0034e, & 0034ePlus instruction sheets that stated these circulators were double insulated and a grounding wire was not necessary, but recommended for safety. Although the motor of these circulators is double insulated, the circulator as a complete appliance is not. These products must be grounded per UL778 standard. Any products that have been installed without a proper ground connection should have the ground wire added in the field at the next scheduled service. In the unlikely event the external heat sink becomes energized due to a failure in the product, this poses a potential shock risk.
